ah the power of the brain... so complex...and as sick as i am of studying anatomy, and now that the class is pretty much over... its finally starting to be a tiny bit interesting.
that's often the case with me... i only like what i'm good at (or vice versa? =/) or else i enjoy things in hindsight... the grass is always greener on the other side... =/
its wierd, sometimes i can be very easy to please and not need much to be satisfied, like in little things or at the surface level, but deep inside, there's growling discontent for greater satisfaction, greater significance in my existence. my standards are high and selfishly, there's so much that i want for myself. that's why lately i often think that the grass is greener on the other side. but at the same time, it can be good... if it drives me to do even better, work even harder, try new things, give me something to look forward to... i think that last part is what i use often... without things to look forward to, goals or destinations, i feel even more lost, even more without purpose and significance. seeing the greener grass on the other side hasn't worked out well thus far this semester, but hopefully actively thinking about it will help me change perspectives.
| the power of intention (story of shia)
"recieving, giving, or just witnessing acts of kindness has been shown in tests to increase seretonin levels, boost the immune system, and act as an anti-depressant."
i don't know how true that is cuz i just heard it on the tube just now.. but regardless, i believe in the power of intention. a kind act, a helping hand, generosity and a good heart will go a long way. and as its recipricol, i believe it'll all come back in your favor. yea.. random post, and although inspirational things may often be idealistic and incredulous, i think optimism is much better than pessimism, even if it means getting burnt on occasion.
| 9 Things I Hate About People
1. People who point at their wrist while asking for the time....I know where my watch is pal, where the hell is yours? Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the bathroom is?
2. People who are willing to get off their ass to search the entire room for the tv remote because they refuse to walk to the tv and change the channel manually.
3. When people say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too". Damn right! What good is a cake if you can't eat it?
4. When people say "it's always the last place you look". Of course it is. Why the hell would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this?
5. When people say while watching a film "did you see that?" No Loser, I paid $12 to come to the cinema and stare at the floor.
6. People who ask "Can I ask you a question?" .... Didn't really give me a choice there, did ya sunshine?
7. When something is 'new and improved!'. Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it.
8. When people say "life is short". What the hell?? Life is the longest damn thing anyone ever does!! What can you do that's longer?
9. When you are waiting for the bus and someone asks "Has the bus come yet?". If the bus came would I be standing here, dumbass?
